To Choose Hope is to Choose Christ
Last year on October 15—Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day—we bought a tank of helium and a package of balloons, and spent the afternoon writing notes and drawing pictures in honor of our babies in heaven. We’ve never thrown a big party or included lots of friends and family on these days of remembrance. Instead, they have been quiet and reflective days. There have been times when I wondered if I was doing enough to honor our babies in glory, but through the years I have come to treasure these quiet moments—where there is no one to impress and our hearts are ...

As I sit down to write this, the view out my window is dense woods and green leaves as far as the eye can see, shiny from the steady rain, with bits of pale sky peeking through the uppermost branches. I am comfortably ...

What's happening in Brenham and College Station:

This year, the Lord has continued opening doors, and we have partnered with more doctors’ offices in the College Station area and several large Houston area hospitals to provide hope to families in Labor & Delivery and also the NICU ...

Abide with me; falls the eventide;
The darkness deepens; Lord with me abide.
When other helpers, fail and comforts flee,
Help of the helpless, abide with me.
Thou on my head, in early youth didst smile;
And, though ...
He Sees Me
I was sixteen years old the first time I remember hearing God called El Roi, The God Who Sees Me. It felt like such a profound and personal name for a God that I loved but didnt truly know or understand at the time. And it was a name that stuck with methat kept pulling at the corners of my mindthough I didnt then know why. Now I do.
The only place in Scripture where God is called El Roi is in Genesis 16. Coincidentally, this is also the only place in Scripture where someone specifically names God. God often names Himself and sometimes ...
Choose Hope for 2018

But dear one, your grief does not need to be carried alone.
For the past twelve years, our nation has officially recognized October 15 as an opportunity to honor and remember our precious babies who have ...
Much More
The grief of death paints my abodestreets and structurespale and decrepit. Nothing of earth surpasses its power; I have seen no mere man pierce to true light beyond this affixed shadow. Firm is deaths power to dominate humankind.
But almost unnoticed, the world creates death into a lulla sinking songthat looks no further than to self. It whispers that unless I abide by the gritty baseness and the meaninglessness of life (apart from living for self), I am inexperiencedor, cannot make much of this life at all. The enemy exploits itself ...
