Local Chapter Spotlight: Brenham and College Station
What's happening in Brenham and College Station:
In November 2016, we were approved to start a local Chapter of Hope Mommies in the Brenham & College Station area. Since then, we have been able to stock all three hospitals in the College Station area, Baylor Scott & White in Brenham, and local doctors offices in Brenham.
This year, the Lord has continued opening doors, and we have partnered with more doctors’ offices in the College Station area and several large Houston area hospitals to provide hope to families in Labor & Delivery and also the NICU experiencing loss. Our annual need for Hope Boxes continues to increase. This is ...

A Song for My Soul: Abide With Me

Abide with me; falls the eventide;
The darkness deepens; Lord with me abide.
When other helpers, fail and comforts flee,
Help of the helpless, abide with me.
Thou on my head, in early youth didst smile;
And, though rebellious, and perverse meanwhile,
Thou hast not left me, though I oft left ...
He Sees Me
I was sixteen years old the first time I remember hearing God called El Roi, The God Who Sees Me. It felt like such a profound and personal name for a God that I loved but didnt truly know or understand at the time. And it was a name that stuck with methat kept pulling at the corners of my mindthough I didnt then know why. Now I do.
The only place in Scripture where God is called El Roi is in Genesis 16. Coincidentally, this is also the only place in Scripture where someone specifically names God. God often names Himself and sometimes even other people: Abraham, Isaac, Israel. But no where else in the Bible does a ...
Choose Hope for 2018
The pain of losing a child, whether to miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss, is among the most agonizing of sorrows. Whether your loss occurred many years ago or very recently, the ache you carry in your heart is heavy indeed. There is nothing that can prepare you for the devastation of losing a child, and there are no words that can take away the pain that results. But dear one, your grief does not need to be carried alone.
For the past twelve years, our nation has officially recognized October 15 as an opportunity to honor and remember our precious babies who have gone home before us, and to spread awareness of the tragedy that befalls 1 in 4 ...
Much More
The grief of death paints my abodestreets and structurespale and decrepit. Nothing of earth surpasses its power; I have seen no mere man pierce to true light beyond this affixed shadow. Firm is deaths power to dominate humankind.
But almost unnoticed, the world creates death into a lulla sinking songthat looks no further than to self. It whispers that unless I abide by the gritty baseness and the meaninglessness of life (apart from living for self), I am inexperiencedor, cannot make much of this life at all. The enemy exploits itself for all it hasconvincing masses that today is it. So, live your ...

I saw the positive pregnancy test and my first thought was, Oh! Another baby to love like Jacob!
Jacob, our firstborn, died on his birthday, seven hours after we met face to face. It had been almost eight months since he was born, and eight months since we said goodbye, and our arms were ...

My Paradox
Why I Am Not Ok
Jesus, be near. My baby died. Through my husband and I, God made a life, but no sooner did we welcome that precious soul than it was snatched from us. No sooner had the word “mother” left my lips than the child left my body, like water slips through our grasp. I am a mother, but with an empty womb, empty arms, and an empty heart. Yet full of a love that was never realized, never seen, never fulfilled. Full of a sorrow so heavy, sometimes I don’t know how to draw my next breath. My child never even drew one, so why I do get the gift of breath? The week my baby was to gain their own heartbeat ended with the silence of a rhythm I ...
