The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
John 1:5

Darkness takes on a new meaning when our babies die. It’s a place of sadness, tears, and heartache, but it’s in the darkness that His light can shine brightest. When we choose to turn to Him in grief, He will faithfully lead us to joy, peace, hope and abundant life. When we choose to praise God amidst our pain, we allow our lives, and the lives of our precious children, to shine as testimonies to the goodness and faithfulness of God.

Courtney Reissig
Courtney is a writer and Bible teacher living in Little Rock, Arkansas. She is the author of Teach Me to Feel: Worshiping Through the Psalms in Every Season of Life and Promises Kept, a Bible study on the Old Testament covenants. Courtney and her husband are the proud parents of four sons and together they serve at Immanuel Baptist Church, where she’s also the discipleship content director. Despite the sorrows of multiple miscarriages and a two year season of infertility, Courtney still has faith in God’s goodness and trusts that our loving father is in control of all things.

Katie Cobbs
Katie is wife to Bruce and mom to three sweet kiddos this side of heaven. She miscarried between her second and third child. Even though she hadn’t yet made it to the gender appointment when she lost her sweet one, her mama intuition just knew this baby was a girl, the same way it had known the gender of her other 3. She lovingly refers to her hope baby as Baby Girl. The Lord has given her a heart for worship and a heart for leading people into worship. She considers it a huge joy and privilege to be used in this way to glorify the Lord. She serves on the worship team at her church in Round Rock, Texas.
