Fall 2014 Hope Groups
The Fall 2014 session of Hope Groups is currently open for registration! Groups begin on September 28th and will run through November 16th. But you may find yourself asking: “What is a Hope Group?”
Hope Groups are an eight week, online Bible Study and small group. There are in-person groups that meet in the Dallas and Round Rock, TX areas as well. These groups are made up of women who have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth, and infant loss as they join together to share their stories, pray, ask questions, share hurts, happiness, and even recipes! Together, they find that there is still hope after the death of their precious sons and daughters.
You may also ask “Why should I join a Hope Group?”
Hope Group Leader Holly Steele says:
Hope Groups has given me the courage to share my heart and hurt with others that truly grasp the deep heartache that comes from having a child in Heaven. Joining a Hope Group will allow you the opportunity to walk along side other moms that have been marked (by loss), and during the 8 week session you will begin to see God’s amazing love shining down and turning your ashes in to beauty. By delving into scripture readings together, you will begin to fully embrace your story as a Hope Mom.
Hope Group Leader Heather D’Imperio says:
For me, Hope Groups meant a community of women who not only had a similar loss in their lives that I could relate to and connect with, but a community of women who didn’t look at me weird for talking about my children who had died, or turn away when I would bring them up, or stare at me in silence because they didn’t know what to say. I think it’s important to join a Hope Group to have this community, to feel accepted in a world where what our family looks like to this world is one that isn’t always accepted. It’s important to focus on the hope we have of being reunited with our children because of what our Savior did for us that fateful day on the cross.
Hope Group Coordinator Jennifer Parks says:
We were not created to “do” life alone, and we certainly were not created to wander through grief alone. Grief may look different for each of us; but our common denominators far outweigh any differences. We miss our babies and we long for our Savior. Hope Groups are a safe place to be heard, to wrestle with tough questions, to seek the Word for answers, to be encouraged by other moms who know the pain of living on this earth with their child in Heaven and to be reminded of Truth. My wish is that new Hope Moms would feel bold and courageous as they sign up for a Hope Group this fall. I want them to experience the refreshment of speaking their child’s name and sharing photos and stories in a place where they are met with a loving sincerity and empathy, rather than the pity of this world. I pray that these moms will find restoration for their hearts and healing for their souls as they fully embrace their stories while running with arms wide open into the precious and grace filled, redemptive love of our Savior and Lord.
