Molly’s Story

My husband, Clayton, and I married in February of 2014, and both knew we wanted to wait about two years before having children. I grew up babysitting a lot of kids throughout high school and college. Being a mom has always been a role I deeply desired. God blessed us as soon as we decided to get pregnant. We couldn’t wait until our due date, November 1, 2016. On March 29, 2016, we had our first appointment at 9 weeks gestation. We didn’t hear a heartbeat, and we knew our baby was already in heaven. The six months following were full of tears, heartache, pain, and confusion. I didn’t understand why or how this could happen, but my trust and faith ...

Beautiful Inheritance {The Boundary Lines}

In March 2017, Hope Moms from all across the country, and even from across the globe, gathered in Giddings, TX for the annual Hope Mommies Retreat.  Together, they spent the weekend sharing the stories of their precious babies, and finding that Christ can indeed comfort the brokenhearted, often through the hands and tears of another sufferer along the way. The theme of the 2017 retreat was "A Beautiful Inheritance." In this mini series, Shannon Owen, recaps her messages from the retreat in order to give us a greater picture of the beautiful inheritance we have been given in Christ. There are lies about the hard things. I bet you’ve heard ...

Testimony Tuesday {Hope Groups: Participating}

Hope Groups are a group of women who have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss (up to two years of age) at any point in their life. It’s a collection of women who meet and share their stories with one another, pray together, ask questions, lament hurts, proclaim joy, and cling to His Word to find that there is still hope after the death of their precious sons and daughters. Hope Groups are a ten week, bible study and small group. Some meet online through Facebook and some meet in person. Each group will establish a specific meeting time. Even if you cannot commit for that specific time each week, we encourage you to join a group. ...

Laurel’s Story

My husband, Josh, and I have two wonderful boys—Jackson who is five and Reid who is three. They were both born after easy and uncomplicated pregnancies. I had always wanted several children. Though Josh was reluctant, after Reid was born, he agreed our family wasn’t yet complete. In the fall of 2015, I had gone through stressful changes at work, but decided the time was as good as any to expand our family. I found out I was pregnant with our third child around Thanksgiving, and the first ultrasound at 6 weeks was normal. However, by the time we shared the news with our families at Christmas, I couldn’t shake a feeling that something wasn’t ...

Testimony Tuesday {Hope Groups: Leading}

When I found out I was pregnant with my first child, I was so excited! I had so many expectations of what the pregnancy, labor, and eventually caring for Auddie would be like. The beginning of my pregnancy was difficult and there were times we thought we were going to lose her early on. So, from the start of her life we prayed, “God, she is Yours. May her life glorify You.” We had so many plans for what we thought she would do in her life to glorify God. We were in total shock that after a mostly healthy, full-term pregnancy, 24 normal hours of labor, and two pushes left her heartbeat was gone. After 25 minutes of trying to resuscitate her, ...

Christin’s Story

My husband, Cody, and I have been together for 12 years. We will be married for nine years on our anniversary this July. We have both always been on the same page when it came to children. We wanted a family, and we wanted to start having children early in our marriage. So, on our first wedding anniversary we announced that we were pregnant with twins! We were shocked and so excited. I knew at four weeks that I was pregnant, and we had our first sonogram at six weeks. We heard both of their beautiful heart beats, and everything looked great—we had two healthy babies growing. At our 12-week appointment we had a sonogram, and they could only find one ...

Missi’s Story

After much prayer, my husband, Brandon, and I decided that we wanted to add another “arrow” to our family (Psalm 127:4). We were blessed with three brave girls and still felt like God was calling us to be parents again. On April 11, 2016, I took a test, and surprisingly my honored eyes read: pregnant. I just started giggling and crying simultaneously. Thanking God, and feeling honored that He would entrust another one of His children to us. I was thankful to be nauseous and loved eating anything fried. My appointments leading up to our 20-week ultrasound showed a strong heartbeat and good growth. We took our girls with us to the ultrasound so ...
