Beautifully Broken inspired by the ancient Japanese art of Kintsugi—the practice of repairing shattered pottery with gold. Rather than hiding the cracks, Kintsugi honors them. The break becomes part of the beauty. The restoration tells a new story. And remarkably, the piece is considered even more precious and beautiful because it was broken and lovingly mended. And we will look at 2 Corinthians 4:7-18 as we explore how Jesus meets us in our shattered places and begins to gently rebuild. He doesn’t rush our healing or expect us to be whole before coming to Him. Instead, He tenderly holds every fragment of our grief. Every tear. Every question. Every piece of us that feels undone. And He restores us with His mercy. Through His death and resurrection, He brings beauty from ashes and walks with us through the fire, not to harm us, but to heal, refine, and renew our souls.
Information coming soon.
We are excited to be back at Camp Tejas, in Giddings, TX this year.
Space is limited. Each room sleeps 3 or 4 women and includes 2 twin-size beds and 1–2 bunk beds (also twin-size), depending on the layout. For your comfort, we’ll be utilizing bottom bunks only. The rooms are cozy and thoughtfully decorated with small, welcoming touches. Your bed will be made and ready for you upon arrival, complete with a pillow, sheets, a blanket, and a quilt. You’ll also receive a washcloth, hand towel, and bath towel. Each room has a private bathroom with a shower and toilet behind a closed door, along with a double-sink vanity area to share with your roommates. There are plenty of electrical outlets (one by each bed) so you won’t need to worry about charging your phone or laptop.
The weekend is a blend of speaking sessions with worship music and biblical teaching, small groups, alone/journaling time, a prayer room with a Hope Baby memorial, a special craft activity, and more.
Registration cost will be avaialble soon. This includes a 2-night stay in a shared room, all speaking and worship sessions, prayer room access, 5 catered meals, beverages, snacks, activities, and gifts. Yes! If there’s someone you’d like to room with, you can list their name on your registration form. To ensure the request is honored, both people must list each other. While we can’t guarantee every request, we do our best to accommodate them. Please also note: some Hope Moms attending may be pregnant after loss. If you feel that sharing a room with a pregnant mom would be especially difficult for you, there’s a place to let us know during registration. We want to honor your heart and care for you well in this.
One of the best aspects of the weekend is the relationships you will make. The time you’ll have with your roommates will be precious, and if you’re new to Hope Mommies then we prayerfully place you in a room with other moms who may have a similar story to your own. If you have concerns about this, please email retreats@hopemommies.org
Arrival is at 2:00pm on Friday. Departure is at 11:00am on Sunday.
This is for ALL Hope Moms, regardless of where they are in the grieving process. Our hope is that the weekend will be a blended community of women in various stages: whether just experiencing infant loss, a year or two out, nine years out, trying to conceive, or expecting a new blessing… all Hope Moms are welcome.
Hope Mommies was founded on the belief that the only reason we have hope following infant loss is because Christ died for our sins, was resurrected, and gives eternal life in Heaven to those who repent and believe in Him. You can read more about our doctrine at www.hopemommies.org/what-we-believe. While we believe this is the only truth and Christ is the only reason we will see our babies again, we understand that many people do not know this. This retreat is centered around a biblical theme, and we will engage in worship, prayer, and spiritual discussion. We will not be forceful with what we believe, but we do hope to talk with you about your experiences and worldview.
We will be in a beautiful camp setting and you will be walking some, back and forth from your room to the main meeting & dining space. We want you to be comfortable. Texas in February/March could be warm or cold. Layers are always best! We will keep you updated on the weather as the weekend draws closer and encourage you to check the weather before packing, too!
The closest airport to Giddings is the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS). It is about an hour from the camp.
Everyone is responsible for getting themselves to the retreat. In an effort to help women connect, a private Facebook Group is formed for Hope Moms coming to the Retreat. This group is where many women meet and decide to carpool.
