In the Word: Purposefully Planned

Welcome to Hope Mommies’ In the Word devotionals. Over the next several weeks, we will be studying Psalm 139 together. This Psalm is used often (and rightly so) to demonstrate the value of human life, and God's care for us from even before we were conceived. What can we learn about God's tender care for us and for our babies from these verses? How does a greater knowledge of these truths offer hope and comfort to us in the midst of grief? Purposefully Planned “My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your ...

Isaac, Forever Held

We may have only carried our babies on this side of eternity for a short while, but they are forever held in our hearts. We would love to have you write about the traditions you have started to represent your hope baby in your holiday celebrations, family photos, home, etc., or how you celebrate their birthday or heaven day. Find out how you can share your story HERE. “Mommy, that’s my brother, Isaac. He’s in heaven with Sparky.” Sparky is my ...

In this series, we will be looking at how each of these attributes affords us a greater picture of God’s care for His children, and how knowing and believing these truths can bring comfort to our hearts in the midst of grief. As we study together, we encourage you to use the comments as a place to dialogue with us about what you are learning and share your answers to ...

Because the Bible says that God knew us before the foundation of the world, I know that Isaac’s story began before I was laying on the ultrasound table that day in March of 2011. However, for the purpose of this blog, that is where I will begin. That day, a day that will forever be etched in my memory, we were at the doctor for a followup. Our “routine” genetic screening, just three weeks prior, had indicated that the precious baby growing within my womb might be sick. Those three weeks had been long ...
