When You Can’t Afford the Retreat

winterRetreat2014

You’ve seen the posts on Facebook and Twitter. You’ve read about it on the website. You want to attend the Hope Mommies Retreat, but there’s one big obstacle in your way.

Money.

At Hope Mommies, we understand that finances are tight, and that the retreat can be out of the range of what is affordable for some. In past years, we were able to offer partial scholarships to those in need, but this year, the funding is not available. We never want finances to be the only reason that someone doesn’t attend. Despite our inability to offer financial assistance, we want to help get you to the 2014 retreat!

The first thing you need to do is PRAY! If God wants you at this retreat, He WILL provide a way! Do not limit Him! Pray for wisdom and guidance. Pray for provision. Pray that He will make a way for you to be there!

Next, think of creative ways to raise the funds. Tell friends and family that instead of purchasing you the latest gadget, or giving you a meaningless gift this Christmas, that you would love for them to help pay for your registration fee or travel expenses.

Do you craft? Knit winter hats, make homemade jams, or paint picture frames and then sell them! Have a baked sale, run a 5K, or have a garage sale! Use your imagination!

Write letters to friends, family, and church members who are invested in your life and tell them what this weekend would mean to you. Ask if they would be willing to sponsor your trip.

The options are limitless! These are just few suggestions of how you can raise the money to attend the Hope Mommies Retreat. Above all, the most important thing is to trust God. He knows the names of each woman who will attend this years retreat. If you feel like He is asking you to go, do not be defeated by a dollar sign on a website. Say YES and get to work! He will make a way, if you are willing to go where He calls you.

We hope to see you in February!
