PAIL MONTH  |  WAVE OF LIGHT  |  MORE RESOURCES  |  CHAPTER EVENTS

Here are a few suggestions for how to spend October 15.

We pray they are hopeful and healing.

Using Scripture as your guide can be very helpful when finding the words to pray feels hard. God is always listening, He sees our tears, He is our great comfort.

  • Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us. Selah (Psalm 62:8)
  • Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge (Psalm 62:5-7)
  • Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you. (Isaiah 54:10)
  • I remember my afflictions… yet I call this to mind and I have hope: because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning (Lamentations 3:21-23)

Writing can help us process and lament. Here are a few prompts to help you get started:

  • How old would they be now?
  • What do you miss the most?
  • What has gotten easier?
  • What do you know about God that you didn’t before?
  • What do you wish you could tell them?

Finding ways to get your story out can really help.
You can write it, record a voice memo in your phone, have a conversation with a loved one, craft a poem, or create music or art.

Comfort is rooted in the character and work of Christ.
When we remember what is true, we can see more clearly through the clouds of grief. Highlight it in your bible, write it on a sticky note or your bathroom mirror, and text it to a friend that needs encouragement, too!

Whether they are grocery store flowers or farmer’s market flowers, you are worthy of bringing beauty into your home.

Spending time in the kitchen preparing a meal to nourish your body can also nourish your soul.

Hope Mommies has a Spotify and Apple Music Playlist titled, Comfort for October 15. You can find links to both below.

Movement can help calm down your nervous system, which can be especially reactive in the wake of loss.
Take a walk outside and deeply breathe in the fresh air, look around and marvel at all our Creator has made.

We even have a podcast about it! Listen Here

Participate in the Wave of Light at 7pm in your time zone on October 15.

1 in 4 pregnancies will end in loss, while we can’t stop this from happening, we can be there when tragedy strikes and help bereaved mothers grieve unto the Lord. We run off donor dollars and can only continue this work through the generosity of God’s people.
