Rachel’s Story

On December 16, 2015, my husband and I found out we were pregnant with our second baby.  From the first positive pregnancy test, our minds and hearts began to fill with ideas of our new little one—how much we would love this new baby, the kind of sibling he or she would be to our daughter, and how he or she would fit into our family. Around 6 weeks pregnant, we saw our baby on ultrasound, and the doctor reported that everything looked good. Then came the exhaustion, nausea, and vomiting. Everything seemed to be following the same pattern as my previous pregnancy; so, ...

Shannon’s Story

My story can be hard to write.  It’s been so hard to grieve and harder to even process.  To say the last year and a half has been hard would be an extreme understatement.  But, I know my story is still being written, and it will glorify God.  I pray it already has. So, I write it out. My husband and I got married on the beach June 7, 2008. It was perfect. We planned fun vacations all over the world as our work schedules would allow for five years before deciding to start a family. We met our first little love, Callie Siena, in July 2014. She is ...

Q: Is It Un-Christian to Grieve?

This Q&A series is intended to help you take steps forward in wisdom. Lay your questions before Scripture with us; find in the ashes that wisdom “will place on your head a graceful garland; she will bestow on you a beautiful crown” (Prov. 4:9). What questions about grief, God, or the Bible do you have right now? Contact us here.  When I first looked at this question, my automatic reaction was: No. Definitely not. But as I thought and prayed about it, my answer changed to both “no” and “yes.” While it's not un-Christian to ...

Molly’s Story

My husband, Clayton, and I married in February of 2014, and both knew we wanted to wait about two years before having children. I grew up babysitting a lot of kids throughout high school and college. Being a mom has always been a role I deeply desired. God blessed us as soon as we decided to get pregnant. We couldn’t wait until our due date, November 1, 2016. On March 29, 2016, we had our first appointment at 9 weeks gestation. We didn’t hear a heartbeat, and we knew our baby was already in heaven. The six months following were full of tears, heartache, pain, and ...

Hope Groups are a ten week, bible study and small group. Some meet online through Facebook and some meet in person. Each group will establish a specific meeting time. Even if you ...

Pouring out What My Child Poured into Me

Each child gone ahead from among us is a precious person made in the image of God—and all having been made into Hope Moms, we together declare motherhood in each of our journeys. We are eager to go above and beyond in showing honor and love for one another (Rom. 12:10, 15). Through this series, we honor each other’s experiences of motherhood in love through our shared God of hope. I began to taste the beauty of motherhood not when I conceived my first child but when I first began to give my life away in ministry to other women at the age of 13. Does that seem ...

Laurel’s Story

My husband, Josh, and I have two wonderful boys—Jackson who is five and Reid who is three. They were both born after easy and uncomplicated pregnancies. I had always wanted several children. Though Josh was reluctant, after Reid was born, he agreed our family wasn’t yet complete. In the fall of 2015, I had gone through stressful changes at work, but decided the time was as good as any to expand our family. I found out I was pregnant with our third child around Thanksgiving, and the first ultrasound at 6 weeks was normal. However, by the time we shared the news with our ...
