Grief can bring us face-to-face with the ache of w Grief can bring us face-to-face with the ache of what we never wanted, never expected, and never believed we would have to endure. In Episode 78 of the Hope Mommies Podcast, Ryley shares a conversation with another anencephaly mom that changed the way she understood the word fair. Her friend reminded her that what we have been given in Christ isn’t something we have earned or deserved. We deserve nothing apart from Him—and yet God willingly gave His Son for us. That truth didn’t make the loss fair. It didn’t erase the pain of missing her baby. But it changed the way she saw worship, communion, and the sacrifice of Christ. Because when you have experienced the unimaginable cost of losing a child, the sacrifice of another Father giving His Son can take on a depth you never understood before. We may not always know what another Hope Mom is ca We may not always know what another Hope Mom is carrying. She may look okay. She may be laughing, serving, showing up, and moving through her ordinary day while quietly carrying a grief that feels heavy. That’s why noticing matters. Maybe holding up her arms looks like remembering her baby’s name. Maybe it’s checking in on a hard anniversary. Maybe it’s sitting with her in the silence instead of trying to find the right words. Maybe it’s praying for her when she doesn’t have the strength to pray for herself. We don’t have to fix her grief. We don’t have to make the valley disappear. We can simply come alongside her and say, “You don’t have to carry this alone.” Because there will be seasons when we are Moses, needing someone to hold up our tired arms. Sharing our story can feel like more than we’re ab Sharing our story can feel like more than we’re able to carry. In Episode 78 of the Hope Mommies Podcast, we hear about a mom who reached out after hearing another mother openly share her story of loss. She had the same diagnosis, and just two months postpartum, she found herself reaching out to someone who understood. But saying yes to being there for another mom didn’t feel easy. “I don’t know if I can do this. I don’t know if I’m ready to do this.” Her husband’s response became a reminder she continues to carry: “If not you, then who?” God places opportunities in our lives that we may not feel ready for. He can take the story we’re still learning to carry and use it to reach another mom who desperately needs to know she isn’t alone. Ten years later, she is still known as Jaycee’s mom. Her story is still being shared. Her daughter is still being remembered.
