We’re so excited to introduce the incredible women who will be leading our Summer Hope Group, I Am Known! Each one has said “yes” to walking alongside you with tender hearts, open hands, and a deep trust in the Lord.

These leaders bring both the wisdom of God’s Word and the lived experience of grief—and they’re here to gently guide, encourage, and remind you that you are not alone.

Brooke: "Hi! I am Brooke and I’ve been a Hope Mom to Rocky Alan Smith since 2020. I live in Wisconsin with my husband and oldest son and all of our fur babies. I work at a church as worship and technology director and absolutely love doing Bible Studies! I am looking forward to studying Gods Word with other Hope Moms and pray the journey helps with the continued healing we all need in our individual journeys. Our God is SO good and I look forward to doing this study together."
Brooke will be leading on Mondays at 7 PM CST

McKenzie: "Hello! I’m McKenzie, and I live outside of Charlottesville, Virginia with my husband, Chris, and our living son. My hope babies are Riley, River, and Logan. When I am not working in children’s ministry at our church, I love walking and spending time outside, reading, and crocheting. The Lord called me to lead a Hope Group while attending the Hope Mommies Retreat this past spring. My hope is that the Lord will use what He has taught me over the deeply painful last few years to help encourage other Hope Moms in their suffering and to remind them they are not alone. I look forward to seeking the Lord in His Word together, trusting that He will use our pain and our time together for our good and for His glory."
McKenzie will be leading on Tuesdays at 7 PM CST

In this episode of the Hope Mommies Podcast, Brook In this episode of the Hope Mommies Podcast, Brooke Schuelke is joined by her husband, Clint, for a deeply honest conversation about grief, marriage, and walking through the loss of their daughter, Blair, together. As Father’s Day approaches, this episode creates space to acknowledge and honor Hope Dads and the often unseen ways fathers carry grief after the loss of a baby.

Together, Brooke and Clint reflect on losing Blair at 37 weeks after a healthy pregnancy and share how differently grief unfolded for each of them in the months and years that followed. They talk about the helplessness and pressure Clint felt as a husband and father, the physical and emotional weight Brooke carried as a grieving mother, and the challenges of navigating loss while remaining united in marriage.

Whether you are in the earliest days of loss or many years down the road, our prayer is that this conversation reminds you that you are not alone, your marriage is worth fighting for, and there is still hope in Christ even in the midst of deep sorrow.

Grief has a way of filling our hearts with painful Grief has a way of filling our hearts with painful questions and quiet accusations. In Part 2 of the Lies in Grief series, we’re confronting the lie that God took our babies to punish us—and remembering the healing truth of the Gospel: there is no condemnation for those in Christ.

On what does God really have to say about unborn On what does God really have to say about unborn babies?

"When is that new human being, that has just been formed, become a person? When do they have identity? God already knew ahead of time that this was gonna be the debate of when life begins. And so he makes it perfectly clear throughout scripture that identity and personhood are there at the moment of conception.

Isaiah 49:1 says, "before I was born, the Lord called me from my mother's womb. He has spoken my name." Jeremiah 1:5 "Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you before you were born. I set you apart. I appointed you as a prophet to the nations."

When we look back at Mary's pregnancy with Jesus, in the first chapter of Luke, Gabriel visited Mary. He's told her that she will conceive a child, and it will be Jesus. And she immediately gets up after she's been told this, and she travels to go see her cousin Elizabeth, who is also six months pregnant with John the Baptist. And as soon as Mary walks in the door, John the Baptist leaps for joy within Elizabeth's womb.

That was so powerful to me because the first person to ever recognize Jesus on this earth as he left heaven, came to earth as a human, was an unborn baby, John the Baptist, six months gestation. What's also so powerful about that is that he recognized Jesus in some of the earliest stages of pregnancy, of human life. Mary was only a few days pregnant after having traveled to see Elizabeth. So, to me, that is one of the most powerful ways that God has declared to us that the life of the unborn is significant and that there is identity and there is personhood at the moment of conception." - Rachel Dickey
