Thank you for your desire to host a Box Gathering and to share Gospel hope with other grieving parents.
This process is made up of three parts:
Fundraising, Shipping, and the Box Gathering.
Fundraising: You raise the funds needed from your friends, family, church connections, etc. Usually 2-4 weeks.
Shipping: Once you raise the desired funds, we need about 2 weeks to mail all the supplies to you.
Box Gathering: This is where you assemble the Hope Boxes!
How much will you need to fundraise? We have worked extremely hard to find vendors and companies that will allow us to purchase all of the box contents at a wholesale or discounted price. Our Hope Boxes cost $60 each and include: an ESV Bible, a Heaven Booklet (Randy Alcorn), Bright Hope: 28 Daily Devotions for Grief in Light of the Gospel (Erin Cushman, Hope Mommies Founder), a custom journal, a bookmark, worship music, a handwritten note, and our brochure, along with various comfort and pampering gifts such as: tea, lotion, lip care, a wristband bracelet, a candle, and a custom mug. After your event has closed, we will let you know how much was raised and how many boxes you will be able to make from that.

Having a Facebook Event page can be a great way to give people the information they need to understand what a Box Gathering is and how they can donate. However, we kindly ask that you don’t host a “Facebook Fundraiser” and that all donations are made directly on our website. With Facebook Fundraisers, it can take up to 12 weeks for us to receive funds from Facebook, which can severely delay your Box Gathering. You could ask your church to post about your Box Gathering in their weekly bulletin, you could share with friends and family via email or text, you could share on your personal social media accounts, or maybe have a bake sale, carwash, or yard sale! The possibilities are endless and it’s all up to you. To have friends and family donate to your Box Gathering, please kindly direct them to this page Give to a Gathering.
There they will scroll down to the “Gatherings” section where they will select your name from the drop down list. Example, “Jane Doe: Dallas, TX”. We must do it this way, as opposed to you collecting all the money, for tax purposes and so it is clear who the donations come from. After your fundraiser ends, it is your responsibility to thank your own donors. They will get a tax-deductible receipt from us the moment they make their donation on our website, but a personal thank you always goes a long way. You may choose to write them a card, or send them a text or email, whichever you prefer is fine with us. To make this easier for you, after your fundraiser ends, we will email you names, addresses, and emails of your donors. If you did choose to create a Facebook Event page for your Hope Box Gathering, you could even thank friends and family there directly by tagging them in a post!
Once your fundraiser ends and a date for your Box Gathering is established, it will take 3-4 weeks to mail you all the supplies needed to assemble the Hope Boxes. Many people like to ask close friends and family to help put the boxes together, often to honor their Hope Babies Birthday or Heaven Day. It can be really healing to donate Hope Boxes back to the hospital or doctor’s office where you and your Hope Baby had a meaningful connection, but if you don’t have somewhere to donate your Hope Boxes to, and would still like the opportunity to host a Gathering, please reach out to us and see if we can help find you a location to donate to!
