12 Days of Christmas {Thank You Donors}

It was such an honor for us to run the 12 Days of Christmas giveaways for you over the past two weeks. We could not have pulled this off without the generosity of so many individuals who graciously donated their time, talents, and products for these giveaways.  We wanted to make sure to call attention to each of the shop owners we had the pleasure of partnering with during this series!

Little Blue Banner

Hope Cards InLittle Blue Paper Shop is a graphic design shop featuring scripture art, stationery and gifts. Our shop began with a single piece of scripture art as a fundraiser to cover medical expenses for our son’s disability, and has since expanded into a full blown business featuring art, stationery products, mugs, tumblers and more. Our feature line, the Hope Collection, is one that is dear to my heart. We experienced pregnancy loss ourselves, and then lost our newborn niece just minutes after birth in May 2013. Since then, we’ve walked alongside close friends through miscarriage, infertility, and stillbirth. I began to see the need for products that encouraged women in the HOPE of Jesus Christ. Whether suffering a loss, or just needing encouragement in the daily trials of life, scripture breathes life and hope into all of us.

Katie Sterbenz Banner

Thrill of HopeKatie Sterbenz Design is a company featuring handlettered paper goods. Katie is a self-taught hand letterer and has been creating handmade cards for special occasions since she was in grade school. Katie remembers spending each summer creating a new style of handwriting for the upcoming fall semester. Collecting beautiful packaging materials, art and school supplies remains one of her favorite hobbies. In 2014, Katie decided to take her love of hand lettering beyond her circle of friends, thus creating Katie Sterbenz Design. When Katie isn’t designing, she is working as a speech/language pathologist and spending time with her husband, two young kids (Henry and Genevieve), and goldendoodle (Olive).

To Dry For Banner
Tea TowelWhen I was three I can remember sitting on my grandmother’s lap at her trundle sewing machine carefully guiding the fabric as she pumped the machine and talked me through the process. That is where my love of making things began and I haven’t stopped creating since then! My love for tea towels also began at a early age as I watched my grandmother embroider the art that hung in her kitchen for all to see.

To Dry For Designs specializes in flour sack tea towels that are made with commercial grade flour sack towels and printed with eco-friendly water based inks. Our hope is that others will be uplifted and inspired by the inspirational verses and quotes that we carefully pick for each towel. When I see one of my towels hanging in my kitchen it is a reminder to me of what is important in this life and helps me get through a busy and sometimes tiresome day.

Sweetgum BannerTumblerI’ve been crafting for years, but I just opened my Etsy store in July. The reason I named my business Adventures on Sweetgum is because I have no clue where this shop is going to take me, and the adventurous aspect is what makes it so much fun. I mainly make coffee cups and tumblers for now, but check back in 6 months and it may be completely different. I have the heart of an entrepreneur, a creative mind, and I truly believe I’m capable of anything. I love being a stay at home mom, but you can only rearrange and redecorate your house so many times before it makes your husband crazy, so I love having a creative outlet that represents me and my spirit.

Laurel HopeMy name is Amy and I started my shop when I became a stay at home mom after my daughter Savannah was born in November 2014. I wanted to use the extra time that I had at home to start working on all of those projects I thought about doing for years!! I have always had a creative side and took an interest specifically in Home Decor. Thanks to Pinterest, my list of DIY projects was pretty long but I just started working on different things here and there and after getting some good feedback from friends and family, I decided to take my love of arts and crafts to the next level and start selling! I am happy to be able to do what I love now and bless others in the process.

Rural Banner
Hope Cards 2I started Rural Beginnings after I left my full-time job at World Vision. It was a way to keep me busy and earn a little extra income. I named my shop Rural Beginnings because going from a full-time job to no job was definitely a brand new beginning for me! On top of that, at the time my husband and I lived in a very rural setting, which made it more challenging to get out and connect with others. Thus, Rural Beginnings was born!
My hope and prayer is that my prints will encourage and bless others. Thanks so much for stopping by!

bathnutss Banner

salveThe McNutt family believes in the simple life. Time with the Lord, family and friends are at the top of the priority list. We created Bath Nutts to help others get back to the simple life as well. We make each product by hand when you order to guarantee freshness and we only use ingredients from God’s green earth. We believe in Proverbs 16:3 which states “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.”
Etsy  Facebookfaithunfoldinganchor pouchMy name is Megan Christakes. I am a daughter, a sister, a friend, a nurse, a wife, and my most important role a mommy. I became a mommy on December 23, 2012. Our Tristan was born. He is our Christmas Angel. ?. We had completed our first adoption!! We couldn’t have been more happier inside and out! Our road to becoming parents wasn’t easy, but that didn’t stop us from believing that God had something larger for us in store. We kept our Faith and our Trust in Him. He is the one who got us through many rough patches and He is the one who knew Tristan was to be our son. He is the one above all who knows our hearts and desires. We prayed vigorously day and night. Sometimes they just weren’t answered how we thought they should have been… But looking back, they were answered just as they were suppose to be.

I started Our Faith Unfolding this August to help fund our second adoption! We are so excited to add to our family! Tristan is so very eager to become a big brother!!! Not only does Our Faith Unfolding help raise support for our family, but I also give back to local organizations through out the year. I believe in giving to others and helping those that need help. Jesus calls us to do so.

I pray for those women reading this right now that whatever burden you may be carrying that you always remember our Lord has you. He has you squeezed in His arms tightly and He will never let you go. Through the muck he’s there every step of the way and when the bells of happiness ring He is with you to celebrate.

Hebrews 11:1 is my business’s verse. It’s what I hold on to. It is my heart.

Love Like Twine Banner

DSC_6402I’ve had a deep need to create for as long as I can remember. Way back in grade school, assigned projects took over most of the house as I carefully crafted every detail. I love to get lost in creating, and delight in discovering inspiration in the hidden corners of my world.
After earning a degree in Interior Design and running a residential design business for the last eight years, I felt as though a piece of me was missing. As much as I loved helping my clients create beautiful homes, I neglected the part of my heart that needs to form things with my hands; to cut, to sew, to paint, to create.
I realized another missing piece through feeling an intense need to focus on my family. My husband and I welcomed our beautiful daughter into our world last year and I’m deeply grateful to now have the opportunity to be home with her full time.
Becoming a mom has increased my desire to create a home that is God-centered, welcoming, warm, joyful, and authentically “us.” I strive to create simple goods that help others do the same in their homes.

il_570xN.665437880_k0i2 The two most important things in my life are my faith and my family.. My hope for my shop is to provide the Word in a creative way for families to display on their walls.
I started making signs because I wanted special Bible verses for each of my kids. I couldn’t find the specific verse or a style that would fit into their decor. So, I made each of them a sign. I loved the creative process of making the signs, and loved how the finished product turned out. I then began making them for family and friends. I was overwhelmed by the response, and started making more and more. My husband encouraged me to open a shop on Etsy, and I was blown away by the customers purchasing scripture art.
I love hearing stories about favorite scriptures, and how a particular verse helped someone through a rough time or is a reminder of a joyful time.
All of my items are handmade by me, and may vary a bit from the item pictured, which makes them all the more unique and personal. I distress my signs to give them a perfectly imperfect finish.
I truly appreciate each and every order that I receive.. And, I pray that your sign blesses your heart and home!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find something that speaks to your soul!

cardsI grew up sitting next to my mom at the kitchen table and watching her draw and hand letter wedding invitations and baby announcements for friends and family. To keep my siblings and I busy while she worked, she gave us pens and an endless supply of paper. We would create worlds of paper dolls with matching outfits and intricate backdrops to imagine their stories. We illustrated our own books and painted murals on the side of our barn in Puyallup, WA. Childhood was magical for me and I am so grateful for creative parents.
In high school, I doodled on my biology notes and on the backs of tithe envelopes at church, but never for anything more than to pass the time. I figured I needed a real job and that that my doodling was not going to pay the bills, so I put my sketch book on the shelf. Instead, I got my BA in sociology at the University of WA. It wasn’t until I became a mom, that I began draw again. Suddenly, I was desperate for a creative outlet and being home alone all day with babies made me desperate to connect with people. So I started designing greeting cards and prints during nap times to send to my friends and family.
One thing led to another and Cheerful Ink was born. I wanted to create a stationary company because I am passionate about paper and people. There is something so rich and gratifying about the ritual of putting pen to paper, folding the card, slipping it into an envelope, addressing it and sending it out to those you care about. And there is just nothing that makes my day better then being on the receiving end of a thoughtful card.
Cheerful Ink designs are whimsical and playful and reminiscent of childhood experiences. It’s those experiences that speak the loudest to our hearts because deep down we’re all just grown up versions of our childhood selves.
