Hebrews 6:19

"We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul."

Has Hope Group been a meaningful part of your grief journey?

Maybe you’ve experienced the comfort of being seen, the encouragement of walking alongside other Hope Moms, and the truth of God’s Word meeting you in the middle of your grief.

Now, maybe the Lord is inviting you to help create that same space for another mom.

We’re looking for women who are ready to pour out the love, truth, and hope they’ve received into the lives of other Hope Moms—women who are willing to listen, pray, lead, and point others back to Christ.

You don’t have to have grief figured out. You just need a heart willing to serve.

If you’ve been wondering whether God might be calling you to lead a Hope Group, we’d love for you to take the next step.

What do you do when you can’t believe hope for you

What do you do when you can’t believe hope for yourself?

Sometimes grief is so heavy that even the truths you know by heart feel impossible to hold onto.

In this episode, our guest, Susan Lavender, shares about a season when she couldn’t make sense of what God was allowing. The loss. The timing. The questions. The overwhelming realization that she was not in control.

And yet, she wasn’t left without hope.

She had people who kept speaking truth to her. Friends who sent Scripture. Loved ones who reminded her of what was true when she couldn’t believe it for herself.

She even filled the pages of her journal by simply transcribing the texts people sent and the Bible verses they shared.

Sometimes, faith in the middle of grief looks less like confidently declaring, “I have hope,” and more like whispering, “I don’t understand, but I know I need You.”

And sometimes God gives us people who will carry the truth for us until we’re able to hold it again ourselves.

If you’re walking through a season where hope feels out of reach, we hope this conversation reminds you: you don’t have to carry it all by yourself.

“What if I don’t know anyone?”

It’s one of the questions we hear most often about the Hope Mommies Retreat—and we understand why.

Walking into a room full of strangers can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re carrying the weight of baby loss.

But year after year, we watch something beautiful happen.

Women arrive wondering if they’ll fit in, only to find a room full of women who understand. Women who know what it’s like to miss a baby, to have hard anniversaries, to carry grief long after others have moved on.

Here, your baby’s name is welcomed. Your tears aren’t uncomfortable. Your story doesn’t need explaining.

And as we gather around God’s Word, worship, pray, and linger together in Psalm 23, friendships begin to form—friendships that often continue long after the retreat ends.

You don’t have to know anyone when you arrive. You simply need to know that there is a place for you here.

Whether your loss was recent or many years ago, we would love to welcome you this February as we look together to our Good Shepherd, the One who walks with us through every valley and restores our weary souls. 🤍

Come as you are. We’ll be waiting for you.

Grief can make you feel like you are standing in the middle of something you cannot escape.

There are moments when the sorrow feels too heavy, the questions too big, and the path ahead impossible to imagine.

But Scripture reminds us of Who is with us in our suffering.

God is our refuge.

He is our strength when we have none of our own.

And He is very present—not distant from your pain, not waiting for you to find your way out of it, but near to you in the middle of it.

When you don’t know what to pray, He is there.

When you cannot understand what He is doing, He is there.

When all you can do is make it through the next hour, He is there.

You do not have to be strong enough for tomorrow.

You can run to your Refuge today.

He is near. He is faithful. And He will hold you here.

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” — Psalm 46:1
