“Bright Hope” Trailer

Bright Hope: 28 Daily Devotions for Grief in Light of the Gospel is now available for purchase! Find it at Amazon here. Bright Hope was written to give hope and encouragement to those in mourning. Centered around biblical truth, drawing on historical expressions of faith through hymns and poetry, and infused with personal experiences, Bright Hope is for anyone journeying through the lonely shadows caused by grief and toward the light of the gospel of Jesus. Today, we are sharing a promotional trailer for this book.

Reading Bright Hope this month has filled me with such hope! Erin’s constant yet gentle guidance to the loving and safe arms of Jesus encourage my grieving heart. Her wisdom is deeply rooted in scripture and each page is filled with rich theology and deepens my desire to write God‘s word on my heart.

As a musician and a person who is very drawn to music and the great hymns of the past I have so loved meditating on a different hymn each week. Some I was already familiar with and others are new, but they each speak to my heart in profound ways and pull me closer to my loving Creator. I often find myself humming them and quietly singing the great truths to myself as I go throughout my days. How wonderful!

I’m so grateful for how God nudged Erin to write this book, and for her obedience to follow through with his plan for this great resource. This devotional has ministered to my heart as I continue to grieve the death of my first child, Abigail, as well as encourage me as I navigate the fresher grief of some painfully broken family relationships. This is a perfect resource for anyone who is walking through any type of grief, pain, loss, or sorrow.

I love how Erin points out that grief is a process and that we are not alone on the journey. (page 73) “It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.“ (Deut. 38:1) Each day spent reading this book is a day where I am reminded of God‘s promises, his character, and that I can have a confident hope him who is always faithful and always good. I highly recommend it to all my friends and family!
