Commitment: 2-year position on the Hope Mommies Leadership Team

Reports to: Executive Director on a monthly basis

Consults with: Executive Director, Creative Director, Community Director, Box Ministry Coordinator, Chapters Coordinator, and Chapter Presidents, as needed. Also manages the Writing Hope Team.

Responsibilities and Duties:
DIRECTION :: Responsibility for blog series and post topics // Determine direction and content for all of the blog series, mini-series, and posts
• On a quarterly basis, plan 2-4 series for the regular blog schedule (topics for approximately 20-25 posts), and one In the Word series (approximately 6-7 posts in length) for Saturdays. Supply the Blog Team with descriptions for each series and for each topic within each series as necessary.
• Alternate between series that are testimonial in nature and series that are
examining biblical topics or passages.

CALENDAR :: Responsibility for the blog calendar// Determine publishing calendar (currently Monday, Thursdays, and Saturdays) and endure that all slots are filled
• Find Hope Moms’ testimonies or get them from the applicable coordinator. Plan for at least one Hope Group testimony to be posted on the blog during both the Spring and Fall registrations, and one Retreat testimony to be posted during registration for each retreat.
• Coordinate with Chapter Presidents to feature Chapter Spotlight posts on the blog.
• Plan content for major holidays (New Years, Good Friday, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas) and to promote Choose Hope (October 15) and Giving Tuesday on the blog.
• Maintain Master Blog Schedule with the list of upcoming posts and contributor due dates.

COMMENTS :: Responsibility for comments on the blog and social media // Approve appropriate comments made to the blog and and respond when necessary to comments on the blog and social media
• Encourage blog team members to respond to comments made on the posts they have written.
• Compassionately address incorrect theology that is found in comments and gently guide the reader to an accurate understanding of Scripture.
• If the reader has requested specific information about a ministry of Hope
Mommies, an upcoming event, our online communities, or a local Chapter,
answer their questions or connect them to someone who can.

BLOG TEAM :: Responsibility for the blog team // Work with the blog team to determine individual topics and deadlines for their posts, encourage the blog team in their contributions, and recruit to grow the blog team, as needed (current requirement is 4 posts per year to be on the blog team), and foster a sense of community in the Writing Hope Facebook group
• Post in remembrance of each team member’s baby(ies) on their birthday/glory day. These dates can be found on the Writing Hope Team Calendar.
• Create a sense of shared mission and purpose among team members by sharing encouragement, interacting with each writer, and keeping the team up to date on the direction of the blog.
• At the end of each month, create a post consisting of any due dates for the
following month as a reminder to the team of when their post reservations are coming due.
• Send out yearly Blog Team Evaluation to gather feedback from each writer and to renew their commitment to the blog.

EDITING :: Responsibility for theology and grammar // Ensure that the posts conform to our Style Guide, doctrinal statement, and biblical truth
• If grammatical changes are made to conform the piece to the blog’s style
guide or minor changes are made to clarify what you know to be the authorial intent, no notification to the contributor is needed.
• If minor changes (i.e. in tone) are made, dialog with the contributor—but no specific commentary is needed (i.e. “I have made some minor changes for your review highlighted in the attachment. Please don’t hesitate to let me know if you have any questions about these).
• If large changes are made, content is removed, or the reason for the change will not be obvious to the Hope Mom, let the Hope Mom know why you believe this change is for good.

• Upload and schedule each post to the blog according to the Blog Post
Formatting Guide at least two weeks prior to its publication date in order to
give the Creative Director enough time to add the Featured Image for each
post and schedule content on our social media platforms.

(TENTATIVE*) E-BOOK :: Responsibility for annual Hope Mommies E-Book // Determine direction and content for the e-book and work with blog team members who want to contribute over and above.
