Join Us This October: Three Ways to Bring Hope

October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. It’s a time when we pause to remember our babies, raise awareness, and share the hope of Christ with families walking through unimaginable loss. Because this month shines a brighter light on the reality of pregnancy and infant loss, it has also become one of Hope Mommies’ two largest fundraising seasons each year, second only to our year-end giving campaign.

This October, we’re hosting fundraising events in Washington, California, and Texas. While each event serves a unique community, they all share the same purpose: raising awareness of pregnancy and infant loss while helping Hope Mommies continue walking alongside grieving families with the hope of Christ.

Every dollar raised helps Hope Mommies continue providing Hope Boxes, Hope Groups, retreats, the Gift of Hope, our podcast, and other Christ-centered resources that remind grieving families they are not alone.

Whether you’re a golfer, a runner, a sponsor, a volunteer, or simply someone who wants to help grieving families know they are not alone, we hope you’ll find a meaningful way to join us.

Tri-Cities Hope Mommies Golf Classic
October 3 | Kennewick, Washington

This one is personal for me.

This October, Hope Mommies is hosting its very first Golf Classic in my hometown of the Tri-Cities, and my husband Brian and I have the privilege of serving as tournament chairs. I have prayed for years that our community would grow in its awareness of pregnancy and infant loss, and that the families grieving here would know they are not alone. Hosting this tournament feels like an answer to that prayer.

The day begins with an 8:00am shotgun start and closes with lunch, a Hope Mommies presentation, and live music from Payton Drury and Stephen Donley. It will be a meaningful day, and we would truly love to have you with us.

Ways to be part of it:

  • Register to play as an individual or a team
  •  Sponsor a hole or the tournament
  • Volunteer your time
  • Donate an item to the silent auction

Second Annual Miles for Hope 10K, 5K & Kids Fun Run
October 17 | Roseville, California

There is something really powerful about a group of people lacing up their shoes in memory of babies who never got to run.

Sarah Hutchinson, our Community Engagement Lead, and a devoted team of volunteers have worked hard to make Miles for Hope a morning that honors that weight while also making space for community, connection, and even a little joy. The morning begins with a Kids Fun Run, followed by the 10K and 5K, and closes with food trucks, vendor booths, raffle prizes, and time at our Hope Baby Memorial Tent, which is a space set apart to pause, reflect, and remember.

If you aren’t local to Northern California, you can still participate through our virtual race option and run or walk wherever you call home.

Ways to be part of it:

  • Register for the 10K, 5K, or Kids Fun Run
  •  Join virtually from wherever you are
  •  Become a sponsor
  •  Reserve a vendor booth
  • Donate a raffle prize
  • Volunteer your time

Fourth Annual Hope Mommies Golf Classic
October 26 | Austin, Texas

Four years ago, David Grinsell came alongside Hope Mommies as a fundraising consultant. He didn’t have to keep showing up, but year after year, he has, because he believes grieving families deserve support. The Austin Golf Classic exists because of people like him, and we are deeply grateful.

This year’s tournament begins later in the day and concludes with dinner, fellowship, awards, a live auction, and a Hope Mommies presentation. It is an evening that holds both celebration and grief, and somehow, that combination is exactly right.

Ways to be part of it:

  •  Register to play as an individual or a team
  •  Become a sponsor
  •  Donate a silent auction item
  •  Volunteer your time

Honor Your Baby From Anywhere

If you aren’t able to attend any of our events this October, there is still a meaningful way to participate. Personalized Hope Baby Memorial Signs will be displayed at each event, along the race route in Roseville and throughout the golf courses in Kennewick and Austin. If you have a baby to remember, we would be honored to remember them alongside you.

Whether you register, sponsor, volunteer, donate, reserve a memorial sign, or simply help spread the word, your support allows Hope Mommies to continue walking alongside grieving families with the hope of Christ through Hope Boxes, Hope Groups, retreats, the Gift of Hope, our podcast, and so much more.

Thank you for believing, alongside us, that these babies deserve to be remembered and that their families deserve to know they are not alone.

We hope you’ll join us this October as we remember our babies, raise awareness, and continue sharing the hope of Christ with families who need it most.

Hope Mom to Paige Marie

Jennie is the Executive Director for Hope Mommies. She and her husband Brian live in Oregon and have four children together— Trenton, Paige who has been in Heaven with Jesus since 2010, Mason, and Cora. If you were to knock on her front door today, you’d find her in something comfortable drinking a hot cup of tea, while trying to figure out how to balance all the things that make up a life. She enjoys spending time in God’s word, fresh flowers, board games with her kids, cooking, and evening walks in her neighborhood. She adores being a new creation in Christ and prays she reflects Him well on this earth.
