As Father’s Day approaches, this conversation on t As Father’s Day approaches, this conversation on the Hope Mommies Podcast creates space to honor Hope Dads and the often unseen ways fathers grieve after the loss of a baby.

In this episode, Brooke and Clint Schuelke share about losing their daughter, Blair, at 37 weeks and how grief unfolded differently for each of them in marriage, parenthood, and faith.

Clint shares candidly about the helplessness of wanting to “fix” something that couldn’t be fixed, and the heartbreak of watching the person you love grieve so deeply.

“There’s not a five-step process that you can hurry through… sometimes you just need to hold each other and be quiet.”

Whether you are walking through fresh grief or years down the road, we pray this episode reminds you that you are not alone, your grief matters, and there is hope in Christ even here.

Have you ever wrestled with the question, "Did God Have you ever wrestled with the question, "Did God take my baby because of something I did?"

Many grieving mothers quietly carry this fear. When loss collides with our awareness of our own sin, it can be easy to believe that somehow we are being punished.

But the gospel tells a different story.

Your baby's death was not God's revenge. It was not payment for your mistakes. It was not proof that God loves you less.

The cross settled that forever.

This week's blog gently walks through what Scripture says about suffering, guilt, and the freedom we have in Christ. If you've ever struggled with shame after loss, we pray these truths bring comfort to your heart.

"God does not treat us according to what we deserve." (Psalm 103:10)

"There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." (Romans 8:1)

You do not have to carry guilt that Jesus already carried for you.

Brooke: "Hi! I am Brooke and I’ve been a Hope Mom to Rocky Alan Smith since 2020. I live in Wisconsin with my husband and oldest son and all of our fur babies. I work at a church as worship and technology director and absolutely love doing Bible Studies! I am looking forward to studying Gods Word with other Hope Moms and pray the journey helps with the continued healing we all need in our individual journeys. Our God is SO good and I look forward to doing this study together."
Brooke will be leading on Mondays at 7 PM CST

McKenzie: "Hello! I’m McKenzie, and I live outside of Charlottesville, Virginia with my husband, Chris, and our living son. My hope babies are Riley, River, and Logan. When I am not working in children’s ministry at our church, I love walking and spending time outside, reading, and crocheting. The Lord called me to lead a Hope Group while attending the Hope Mommies Retreat this past spring. My hope is that the Lord will use what He has taught me over the deeply painful last few years to help encourage other Hope Moms in their suffering and to remind them they are not alone. I look forward to seeking the Lord in His Word together, trusting that He will use our pain and our time together for our good and for His glory."
McKenzie will be leading on Tuesdays at 7 PM CST
