Hebrews 6:19

"We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul."

In the earliest days of grief, hope can feel impos In the earliest days of grief, hope can feel impossible.

In this clip from the latest Hope Mommies Podcast, Katie remembers listening to two grieving moms laugh together and thinking:

"How are you laughing? There's no way you can be laughing."

Just five days after losing her baby, laughter felt unimaginable.

But years later, she looks back and sees something different. What once seemed impossible became a quiet promise from God:

"You're going to be okay... not right now, but one day."

If you're in those first raw days of loss, let this be your reminder: the way you feel today is not how you'll feel forever. Healing doesn't mean forgetting your baby. It means learning to carry both love and joy, because God faithfully walks with you through every step of grief.

🎧 Hear Katie's full story on the latest episode of the Hope Mommies Podcast. We pray it reminds you that joy is possible—even when you can't imagine it yet.

Meet our amazing 2026 Fall Hope Group Leaders: Ca Meet our amazing 2026 Fall Hope Group Leaders:

Caroline Cain: I’m the Hope Mom to my son, Clayton Thomas, who was stillborn at 24 weeks. While I would give anything to have him here in my arms, God has faithfully met me in the deepest places of my grief. Through Clayton’s life, I’ve come to know Jesus. I now know Him more intimately, trust Him more deeply, and cling to the hope of Heaven in a way I never could have imagined before. I live in Houston, Texas with my husband, Alex, and our goldendoodle, Mini.

Kim Doolittle: I am a homeschool teacher from Western New York State. I am mama to four children on earth and six in heaven: August Baby, Quinn Zoe, Caleb Ezra, Ruben Jameson, Vera Nicolette, and Myka Joy. In my free time, I enjoy playing guitar and singing, playing and coaching softball, and dancing.

Mikayla Lopez: I’m originally from Wheaton, Illinois, but I live in Antigua, Guatemala, with my husband and 3-year-old daughter. We have 2 hope babies: in 2022 I miscarried baby Aurora and last September we lost baby Enzo during labor. Hope Mommies has been such a refuge for me during this time of healing from the loss of our son.

Keri Russell: I am a Hope Mom to Rowen Marigold Russell, whom I miscarried early in the first trimester, and Levi Emerson Russell, who went to heaven at 15 weeks. My heart still aches thinking about them, but I also know that because of them I love Jesus more, have a deeper appreciation for his sacrifice for us, and our whole family has a deeper anticipation for Heaven. I live in Houston, Texas with my husband, 3 living children, 2 cats, and bunches of tropical plants!

Laura Vencill: I live in the countryside near Nashville, TN with my husband Mike and our three Earthside children. We have five sweet hope babies in Heaven: Jean, Samuel, Elijah, Esther, and Job. When I’m not homeschooling or homemaking, I love to read, garden, and drink warm comforting beverages like tea (especially chai).

Join them for one of our Fall studies Sept. 5 – Nov. 13
Cost is $35
